A couple of months ago, I was handed a documentary entitled “More Shoes.” The film follows a young man that travels 5,000 kilometers, from Madrid to Kiev, on foot. The idea immediately sounded both insane and awesome, so I popped in the DVD as soon as I got home. After an hour and ten minutes of laughing, crying, and grasping onto the edge of my seat, I decided that this was one of the most powerful documentaries, even films, that I had ever seen. The film impacted me so deeply, that I felt inspired to contact the film’s protagonist. Lee Kazimir, the director and star of the film, happened to be living in NYC when we touched base, so we made plans to meet up in Central Park one day around noon. He greeted me with a grande coffee from Starbucks around 2 PM… I was really eager to talk to Lee about his film, and to discover what had motivated him to walk on this arduous journey across Europe for six months, so I put together a short video interview which you can see below. I also mixed in a few clips from the film, which you can see in full FOR FREE at www.madridtokiev.com.
Thanks again to Lee, and enjoy everyone!
